were 7 associated procedures: 4 VSD closure, 2 balloon dilatation of aortic recoarctation and one main PA stenting. For PA band dilatation, 17 high pressure balloons were used and 11 low pressure balloons (mean balloon diameter: 12mm). Median RV/Ao pressure ratio dropped from 1 (± 0,3; 0,42-2,2) to 0,6 (± 0,3; 0,31,2) and median RV to PA gradient dropped from 61 mmHg (± 31; 42-160) to 19 mmHg (±26; 12-83). Post intervention, mean saturation was 99% (93-100). When looking at outcome, 23 patients had no further interventions, 1 patient needed 2 dilatations of PA band and 4 patients had surgery (1 double switch, 1 vicious PA band removal, 1 in a context of severe RV dysfunction with tricuspid regurgitation and 1 for VSD closure and main PA stent removal). One patient died of RV failure after surgery and ventricular assistance.

Heart transplantation with or without prior mechanical circulatory support in adults with congenital heart disease.
OBJECTIVES Recent analyses establish that heart transplantation is increasing among adults with congenital heart disease (ACHD), but the effects of pretransplant mechanical circulatory support (MCS) on perioperative and post-transplant outcomes have not been examined in the ACHD population. METHODS Scientific Registry of Transplant Recipients data on all adult heart transplants from September...
متن کاملThe Importance of Examining Congenital Hypothyroidism in Connection with Congenital Heart Disease: Letter to Editor
Dear Editor-in-Chief: I read and enjoyed your stylish article, "Frequency of Congenital Cardiac Malformations in Neonates with Congenital Hypothyroidism", in relation to heart disease with hypothyroidism. As we know, one of the most commonly associated congenital hypothyroidism disorders is congenital heart disease, which has a significant effect on the recovery of pat...
متن کاملThe Need for Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation in Adults Undergoing Congenital Heart Surgery: Impact and Trends of Utilization
INTRODUCTION Adults with congenital heart disease (ACHD) represent a population with unique health-care needs. Many patients require cardiac surgery, with some requiring postoperative extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO). This study aimed to identify the risk factors for the need of postoperative ECMO and characterize the impact of ECMO on admission characteristics. METHODS Data from th...
متن کاملMetabolic Syndrome in Adults With Congenital Heart Disease.
BACKGROUND Metabolic syndrome increases risk for atherosclerotic coronary artery disease, and its prevalence increases with increasing age and body mass index. Adults with congenital heart disease (ACHD) are now living longer and accruing coronary artery disease risk factors. However, the prevalence of metabolic syndrome in ACHD patients is unknown. METHODS AND RESULTS We conducted a retrospe...
متن کاملAdult Congenital Heart Disease Patients Experience Similar Symptoms of Disease Activity.
BACKGROUND There is a lack of objective data on the symptoms characterizing disease activity among adults with congenital heart disease (ACHD). The purpose of this study was to elicit the most important symptoms from patients across the spectrum of ACHD and to examine whether reported symptoms were similar across the spectrum of ACHD as a foundation for creating a patient-reported outcome measu...
